Draft sensitive messages with empathy and clarity.
Difficult Conversation Writer helps you say a hard thing well. Describe what you need to say — feedback, a no, an apology, asking for a raise, a resignation — and get a message that's honest, kind and clear, written for email, chat, a text or as talking points for a face-to-face conversation.
In “Who is it for?”, name the person or their role, for example my direct report, Alex.
In “What do you need to say?”, give the situation and the outcome you want, such as declining a raise this cycle and what would change it next time.
Under “Where”, pick “Email”, “Slack / Teams”, “Text” or “Talking points”. Choose a “Tone”, from “Direct but kind” to “Formal”, and a “Length” of “Brief”, “Standard” or “Thorough”.
Check the price above “Draft my message”, then press it or Ctrl+Enter (⌘+Enter on a Mac).
“Shorter”, “More formal”, “Friendlier” and “More human” each make a new version in the strip under the draft. Press “Copy” when it sounds like you; it also saves to your history.
