What is Design Studio?
Design Studio is a free online photo editor and design tool that runs in your browser. Start from a size, a template, a photo or a collage, add text, shapes, icons, stickers and photos, apply filters and your brand colours, and download PNG, JPG or PDF; optional AI tools show their price before they run.

How to use Design Studio
Full step-by-step guideStep 1: Start a design
On the Design Studio page, search sizes and templates or filter by category, then pick a size under “Start with a size” or a design under “Templates”. You can also choose “Custom size” (px, mm or inches), “Edit a photo”, “Photo collage” or “Blank Instagram post”. Picture results in other tools have an edit button, usually “Edit in Design Studio”, that opens them here.
Step 2: Add and style text
In “Text”, choose “Add a text box”, a heading or body style, or a ready-made font combination. With text selected, the toolbar sets the font (your brand fonts and recent ones come first), size, colour, bold, italic, alignment, bullets and spacing, and “Text effects” adds looks such as “Shadow”, “Outline” or “Neon”.
Step 3: Add elements and photos
“Elements” holds shapes, lines and arrows, photo frames, photo grids for collages, gradients, icons and stickers. Add your own pictures with “Upload files” in “Uploads” (PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF up to 15 MB), or drag or paste them onto the page. “Photos” shows pictures you've made with QikTools image tools and items in your Social Library.
Step 4: Use the AI tools when you need them
Open “Magic”, or press “Magic layers” on a selected picture. “Make text editable” turns the words in a picture into real text, “Separate the subject” lifts a person or product onto its own layer, “Remove background” cuts it out, and “Magic Write” rewrites or writes copy. In “Photos”, “Generate” makes a new picture. Each shows its price first.
Step 5: Resize, download or save to your library
“Resize” changes the size, and “Copy & resize” keeps the original. “Download” offers “PNG” (with an optional transparent background), “JPG”, “PDF Standard” and “PDF Print”, at 1× to 3×, for one page or all. “Save to Library” adds pages to your Social Library for scheduling. Designs save automatically to “Your designs”.

Design Studio: questions and answers
Is the Design Studio free?
Yes, designing is free. Only the optional AI tools and making new pictures cost credits, and each shows its price on the button first.
How do I edit a picture I made in another tool?
Press the edit button under the result, usually “Edit in Design Studio”. The picture opens as a one-page design at its own size, ready for text, elements and downloads.
Can I change the words inside an AI image?
Yes. Select the picture, open “Magic” and choose “Make text editable”: the words become real text in matching fonts over a cleaned-up picture. “Make everything editable” also lifts the subject onto its own layer.
Which formats can I download?
PNG (optionally with a transparent background), JPG with a quality setting, “PDF Standard” for sharing and “PDF Print” for printing. A multi-page design downloads as one PDF, or as a zip of pages in PNG or JPG.
Are pictures made with Design Studio labelled as AI?
They don't get a visible label, because they aren't realistic AI depictions of people or events. Every file still carries embedded metadata and signed Content Credentials that anyone can check on the verification page, and anything made from a file that already had our AI label is labelled again.
What happens to my credits if a run fails in Design Studio?
They go back automatically. The one exception: if a request passes our safety checks but the AI provider's own safety system refuses it and charges us for the attempt, the credits for that run are kept (Terms).
Who owns what I make with Design Studio, and what happens to my data?
You own your inputs and, as far as the law and our AI providers' terms allow, what you create, including for commercial use. QikTools doesn't sell your data or train AI models on your content; some AI providers' own terms let them use what they receive (Privacy Policy). Settings → Profile has Download my data and Delete account, which removes your account, projects and uploads.
